WOW – Workout Of the Week

An exciting (at least for me) first week has gone … 🙂

As I start this new year one of my resolutions is to make working-out more fun. More fun for me and for all Viking Club members. The WOW idea is inspired from a very popular trend called  CrossFit who’s using a daily workout (WOD) for his adopters and clubs worldwide. With a humble respect toward what CrossFit is teaching I am trying to bring the best of workouts with the best benefits for an amazing 2014.

The WOW nr one was to hold for a maximum time a low  plank position.

The WOW nr two was a 10 min as many rounds as possible (AMRAP) of 100 jumping rope, 10 push-ups, 20 backward lunges.

The workout has been scaled for different skills and abilities. For example, instead of regular push-ups, ladies were doing knee push-ups, or those who cannot do Jumping Rope yet they were performing simple jumps over a stick.

Some people were experimenting for the first time in their live the HIIT – High  Intensity Interval Training. That’s not easy and hope to see you again in the near future 🙂
